🆘 SCHEDULING ESSENTIALS WITH AN INTEGRATION

Applies to Nanoleaf Essentials Bulbs Lightstrips (Thread or Bluetooth); Google Nest speakers and displays; Apple 
HomeKit users with Home Hub (Apple TV, HomePod, HomePod mini)

Before You Get Started

Check that all your device(s) are using the latest firmware version. If not, please update them before moving ahead.

Requirements for Android Users 🤖

• Google Home device (Google Home Mini, Google Home Max, Nest Mini, Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max)

• Essentials device already paired through Seamless Setup

Requirements for iOS Users 🍏

• Home Hub device ( AppleTV 4th gen or later, HomePod or HomePod mini)

• iOS 11.3 or higher

• Essentials device already paired through Seamless Setup

NOTE | You can configure schedules for your Nanoleaf Essentials devices through automations in the Home 
app if they’re paired to HomeKit.

How-To: Android Users 🤖

Step 1 • Open the Google Home app.

Step 2 • Tap Routines on the home screen.

Step 3 • Tap the + button to create a new routine.

Step 4 • Set the time and days you want the routine to run.

Step 5 • Under Assistant will, tap Add action, then select preferred option:

Option A: Type a custom voice command (e.g., “Turn on reading light”).

Option B: Tap Browse popular actions, then tap the gear icon ⚙️ beside Adjust lights, plugs, and more. Choose your Nanoleaf device and desired action.

Step 6 • Tap Add to save your routine.

💡You can also say: “Hey Google, turn on my lights at 8 AM” to schedule by voice.

How-To: iOS Users 🍏

Step 1 • Open the Home app on your iOS device.

Step 2 • Tap Automation on the home dashboard.

Step 3 • Tap the + icon (top right).

Step 4 • Choose an action to activate the automation such as A Time of Day Occurs to schedule based on time.

Step 5 • Select the day(s) and time, then tap Next.

Step 6 • Choose the Essentials device or a Scene that includes it.

Step 7 • If the Essentials device was selected, tap and hold on the device card to set the color/brightness of the device for the automation

Step 8 • Tap Done to save your automation.

💡You can also say: “Hey Google, turn on my lights at 8 AM” to schedule by voice.
