What Can I Do with Nanoleaf Shapes in Philips Hue?
Once you've connected your compatible Nanoleaf Shapes panels to the Philips Hue ecosystem using the Philips Hue Wall Light Module (Works with Nanoleaf), you can control your lighting through the Philips Hue app and access supported Hue features.
Lighting Controls
Through the Philips Hue ecosystem, you can:
- Power: Turn your Nanoleaf Shapes panels on or off.
- Brightness: Adjust the brightness of your panels.
- Colours and Whites: Choose different colours and white lighting.
- Scenes: Apply lighting scenes to change the look and feel of your space.
- Dynamic Scenes: Use supported dynamic lighting effects with limited motion options.
- AI Scenes: Create lighting scenes using Philips Hue's AI scene features.
Rooms, Groups, and Automations
Organize your Nanoleaf Shapes panels alongside other Philips Hue lights to create a connected lighting experience.
- Rooms: Assign your panels to rooms within the Philips Hue app.

Philips Hue App
Using the Philips Hue App
After setup, you can access your Nanoleaf Shapes panels through the Philips Hue app.
Your panels are identified as a Gradient Lightstrip within the Hue ecosystem.
The Hue module does not have physical control buttons, so lighting adjustments are made through the Philips Hue ecosystem.
Features That Differ from the Nanoleaf App
Some features available through the Nanoleaf Shapes Controller are not available through the Philips Hue module, including:
- Nanoleaf Discover Scenes
- Nanoleaf Touch Gestures
- Nanoleaf Desktop App Screen Mirror
- Nanoleaf OpenAPI
- Nanoleaf Sync+
If you use both controllers, feature availability depends on the controller and ecosystem being used.
