🆘ARE ANY NANOLEAF DEVICES ALSO THREAD BORDER ROUTERS?

Yes! Sort of... Our rockstar engineering team have enabled select Nanoleaf devices to support Thread border functionality! This functionality is limited to the following:

• Nanoleaf Elements
• Nanoleaf Lines
• Nanoleaf Shapes

To enable Thread border routing on the products mentioned above, please ensure that you are using:

• Nanoleaf device firmware version 8.5.2+
• Nanoleaf app version 9.1.0+ for iOS or Android.

This update will also utilize Thread network credentials from the ecosystems (if already present) in order to put Nanoleaf border routers on the same Thread network as your border routers from companies* such as Apple and Google, or share Nanoleaf Thread credentials with the ecosystems and other third parties if credentials aren't already available when the Nanoleaf border router is turned on.

❗Nanoleaf's TBRs do not function as a home hub. To connect with an ecosystem via Matter, a home hub from the ecosystem of your choice is necessary. This requirement is set by the ecosystems, not ours.

Nanoleaf Matter and HomeKit Thread devices are now fully supported!

* Currently, Amazon Alexa does not have the capability to read or write credentials to the iOS/Android Thread credential store. As a result, the Nanoleaf application is unable to access credentials from Amazon Thread networks, and vice versa.
