🆘 PARING AND SETTING UP THE SECRETLAB MAGRGB™ LIGHTSTRIP

The Secretlab Lightstrip can be paired using the Nanoleaf App and synced with supported smart home platforms via Thread or Matter.

Before You Start

• We highly recommend pairing your lightstrip in the Nanoleaf App first this gives you access to exclusive Nanoleaf features, firmware updates, and easy desktop syncing later.

Need to check your model?

Look for the model number on the back of your controller:

• NL62 = Thread version

• NL72S2 = Matter over Wifi version [released in mid-2024]

Step 1 • Open the Nanoleaf App, go to the Dashboard, and tap the pencil icon in the top right corner.

Step 2 • Tap Add Device +.

Step 3 •Tap the Pair button on your Lightstrip.

🔍You can also tap the magnifying glass icon to flash the light for easy identification (only available within 15 minutes of powering up).

• Match the last 3 characters in the device name with the “ID:” printed on the controller if you don’t want to flash it.

Step 4 • Grant permission when prompted to allow the app to check for a Thread network and provision the device.

Step 5 • Name your device and assign it to a room.

Step 1 • Pairing with the Nanoleaf App

• In the Nanoleaf App, go to the Dashboard > pencil icon > Add Device +.

• The Matter pairing screen will open automatically.

Follow the instructions to pair:

• Scan the Matter QR code on the controller or Quick Start Guide, or

• Tap Pair Manually and enter the 11-digit code.

• When prompted, select your Wifi network and enter the password.

• Name your device and assign it to a room.

⚠️ If a supported smart home hub is detected, you’ll be asked if you’d like to connect to Matter. If not, you’ll return to the Dashboard.

Step 2 • Add To An Ecosystem (if shown)

If prompted to add to an ecosystem, follow the on-screen instructions:

• iOS 🍏 You’ll be guided directly to add it to Apple Home.

• Android 🤖 You’ll see options to:

Option A. Pick a supported app from the list

Option B. Use a pairing code (copy/paste)

Option C. Scan a QR code on another device

Follow the prompts based on your selected method.

🆘Connecting using Matter after Pairing in the Nanoleaf app

Didn’t connect to an ecosystem during setup?

No worries, you can do it later by following these steps:

1 • Open the Nanoleaf App, tap your device on the Dashboard.

2 • Tap the Settings icon (top right).

3 • Scroll to Connections.

From here, you’ll either:

• See an option to connect to an ecosystem, or

• See one of these messages:

“Disconnect and reconnect your device from power”
– This resets the 15-minute Matter pairing window.

“It looks like you've paired this device before”
– You'll need to use the existing Matter controller to re-enable pairing. (Multi-Admin setup must be done from the original ecosystem app.)

🆘 Pairing Directly with an Ecosystem

⚠️If you’re skipping the Nanoleaf App and want to pair directly with your ecosystem, then make sure:

✅ A compatible smart home hub is already set up.

✅ This is your first Matter pairing. (If you've already paired with another ecosystem, follow the Multi-Admin instructions: 🔗Resource: Ecosystems | How-To > Matter Multi-Admin: Using More than One Ecosystem [Sharing]

✅ You initiate pairing within 15 minutes of powering on. If needed, unplug and replug the device to restart the pairing window.

Then follow the steps for your ecosystem:
