hanging the light string straight

I don't want hanging “gurlandes” but straight lines . I tried to hang them straight between poles but one of the attachment point broke ; how to hang in straight lines ?

  To help keep your lights secure and prevent future breakage, we recommend reinforcing any broken attachment points. Also, since the Outdoor String Lights are a bit heavy, supporting them at multiple points, not just at the ends, is important. Using a taut guide wire or string to support the lights at each bulb will help keep them straight and in good condition.
