đ SHARING BETWEEN ECOSYSTEMS
Applies to any user who uses multiple smart home ecosystem; looking to share with other compatible platforms:
Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and/or Samsung SmartThings
â ď¸IMPORTANT | Matter-enabled devices follow a strict 15-minute security commission window as part of the Matter guidelines. This means youâll need to complete the pairing process within 15 minutes, or youâll have to start over.
For your convenience, we have listed out the instructions below.

APPLE HOME
Once youâve paired your Nanoleaf device in the Nanoleaf App, follow these steps to share it with Apple Home platform:
Step 1 ⢠In the Home tab, tap on the device you want to share.
Step 2 ⢠Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the control and settings screen.
Step 3 ⢠Tap âTurn On Pairing Modeâ.
Step 4 ⢠A prompt will appear saying âAccessory Ready to Connectâ.
Step 5 ⢠Tap âCopy Codeâ and perform the following steps within 15 minutes.
Step 6 ⢠Open the app of the ecosystem you want to share the device with.
Begin the flow for adding a new device, select Matter if the device isnât automatically detected, and paste the code from the Apple Home prompt into the manual pairing code input.

GOOGLE HOME
Once youâve paired your Nanoleaf device in the Nanoleaf App, follow these steps to share it with Google Home and/or multiple platform:
Step 1 ⢠Open the settings for the light you want to share by either of the following methods:
a. Long press on the device card and tap on the gear icon at the top right
b. Navigate to the Settings tab and tap on the device under âDevices, groups & roomsâ
Step 2 ⢠Tap âLinked Matter apps & servicesâ and then âLink apps & servicesâ.
Step 3 ⢠Choose one of the provided options:
Option A. If the app for the ecosystem you want to share the light with appears in the list, tap it and youâll be walked through the remainder of the flow.
Option B. If the app you want to share with does not appear and you want to pair with an app on the same phone/tablet, tap âUse pairing codeâ and then âCopy pairing codeâ. Open the app of the ecosystem you want to share the light with. Begin the flow for adding a new device, select Matter if the device isnât automatically detected, and paste the code from the Google Home prompt into the manual pairing code input.
Option C. If the app you want to share with does not appear and you want to pair with an app on a different phone/tablet, tap âShare with QR codeâ. Open the ecosystem app you want to share with on the other phone/tablet, begin the flow for adding a new device, and scan the new QR code.

AMAZON ALEXA
Once youâve paired your Nanoleaf device in the Nanoleaf App, follow these steps to share it with Amazon Alexa and/or multiple platform:
Step 1 ⢠In the Devices tab, tap on the light you want to share.
Step 2 ⢠Tap on the gear icon at the top right.
Step 3 ⢠Tap "Other assistants and apps"
Step 4 ⢠Tap "Add another"
Step 5 ⢠Wait for the new setup code to be generated, then tap Copy.
Step 6 ⢠Open the ecosystem app you want to share with, begin the flow for adding a new device, and enter the setup code provided by Alexa.

SAMSUNG SMARTTHINGS
Once youâve paired your Nanoleaf device in the Nanoleaf App, follow these steps to share it with Samsung SmartThings and/or multiple platform:
Step 1 ⢠In the Favorites or Devices tab, tap on the light you want to share.
Step 2 ⢠Tap the triple dots at the top right and then âShare with other servicesâ.
Step 3 ⢠Choose one of the provided options:
Option A. If the app you want to share with on the same phone/tablet appears in the âAvailable servicesâ list, tap âShareâ and youâll be walked through the remainder of the flow.
Option B. If the app you want to share with on the same phone/tablet does not appear in the âAvailable servicesâ list, tap âQR codeâ then tap the 11-digit code to copy it to the clipboard. Open the app of the ecosystem you want to share the light with. Begin the flow for adding a new device, select Matter if the device isnât automatically detected, and paste the code from the SmartThings prompt into the manual pairing code input.
Option C. To share with an app on another phone/tablet, tap âQR codeâ. Open the ecosystem app you want to share with on the other phone/tablet, begin the flow for adding a new device, and scan the new QR code.
