šSTANDARD RESETTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR NANOLEAF ESSENTIALS
Applies to Nanoleaf Essentials Matter & 'Non-Matter' Bulbs [Wifi-enabled, Thread-enabled, Matter over Thread, Matter over Wifi, HomeKit)
Before You Get Started |
ā ļø Our Essentials Bulbs arenāt compatible with smart switches or dimmer fixtures. If yours is connected to one of these, move it to a regular fixture before proceeding... trust us, itāll make things way easier.
Step 1 ⢠Refresh Your Bluetooth Connection Before Resetting |
⢠Go to your phoneās Settings > Bluetooth
⢠Toggle Bluetooth OFF and wait for 1 minute.
⢠Restart your phone.
⢠Go back to Settings and toggle Bluetooth ON.
Step 2 ⢠Perform the Factory Reset |
ā ļø Follow This Sequence Carefully
Turn on the bulb using the physical wall switch and leave it on for 10 seconds.
Complete the following power sequence:
⢠Turn off for 3 seconds
⢠Turn on for less than 1 second
⢠Turn off for 3 seconds
⢠Turn on for less than 1 second
Repeat this cycle four (4) times in total.
After the final cycle, leave the bulb ON.
If you nailed the sequence, youāll see the bulb flash three (3) red blinks, turn off, and then turn back on automatically. Thatās your signal that the reset was successful!
Step 3 ⢠Pair the Bulb |
⢠Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
⢠Open the Nanoleaf app and follow the prompts to pair your bulb one by one.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR MATTER-ENABLED BULBS
If youāre using a Matter-compatible bulb and planning to connect it to a smart home ecosystem, make sure you start the process immediately after the reset. Matter bulbs follow a strict 15-minute security commission window (yes, itās as intense as it sounds), so be sure to pair it within that time frame.
š¢ Firmware Update | Once the bulb is paired, check for any available firmware updates in the Nanoleaf app and install them.
This ensures your bulb is running the latest and greatest version.
