Control Square Passive Mode
I love my Nanoleaf products. I currently am struggling to make my Canvas panels behave the way I want them to. I have enough power supplies connected for a 30 panel design, but three of the panels seem to be tied to the bottom Control Surface, even when I put it into passive mode. changehealthcare com
Is there a way to reset those three to be seen by the other controller? Do I need to put the secondary controller in passive mode after setup of the first?

Hi there, thank you for reaching out and for being a Nanoleaf fan. We are happy to help with your Canvas setup.
With Nanoleaf Canvas, only one Control Square can function as the active controller for the entire panel layout. If you have multiple Control Squares connected in the same design, the additional ones will automatically act as power sources, but they are still physically part of the same panel network. Because of this, panels that are directly connected through linkers to a specific Control Square may still appear tied to that controller, even if you place them into passive mode. Passive mode simply disables the touch and control functions for that Control Square, but it does not reassign panels to a different controller.
Unfortunately, there is no way to individually reassign specific panels to a different Control Square within the same connected layout. If you want a different Control Square to act as the main controller, the best approach is to power down the setup, remove the current primary Control Square, and reconnect the layout so that the preferred Control Square is the one used during setup and pairing in the Nanoleaf App. After pairing, any additional Control Squares can remain connected to provide extra power, but they will function as passive units.
If the layout is behaving unexpectedly or some panels are not responding correctly, you may also want to try power cycling the system or performing a reset on the Canvas controller and then setting it up again in the app.
If you would like us to review your layout and wiring in more detail, please submit a support request with a photo of the panel arrangement and the connector placements. You can contact our support team here, and we will be happy to assist further:
