Nanoleaf Device cannot be found/paired in the App (iOs)
I had these Nanoleafs for several years and really enjoy them but after a while the app displayed an error message that the device could not be found anymore, so I stopped using it.
Now after moving and the app getting updated, I wanted to try again. I tried many of the FAQ suggestions and ways but always get stuck pretty early.
The device still retains all of the scenes/modes I installed in the app back then and I can switch between them using the arrow button, so they work perfectly fine. The white LED on the controller turns on for 3-4 seconds and then turns off for 1-2 seconds while it is powered on, repeating. Even if I turn it off, it also blinks so I have to power it off while I sleep, which wasn't the case before the issue.
The main issue: The device cannot be found in the app from before and I cannot use any options for my “rooms”. Trying to find the device using the pairing code does not find it and NFC also does not detect it. There isn't really a QR code on the Quick Start Guide or the back of controller as it was described. Maybe mine is too old for that.
Like I said, the device still *works* and I have a lot of options for colours, so even if I can't fix this, I will still enjoy it. If possible, I would just like to get some help from someone, rather than just a directive to another help page or FAQ “have you tried this”. Then I would rather just get a “we don't know.”

Hi there, thanks for the detailed explanation, this really helps narrow things down.
Based on what you described, your panels themselves are working, but the controller is not completing its network broadcast, which is why the app cannot discover or pair with it. The white LED pattern you mentioned usually indicates the controller is stuck in a connection loop rather than being fully connected or in proper pairing mode. Since your unit is an older model, it may not use QR or NFC pairing, so setup needs to be done through the legacy pairing flow.
At this point, the most effective step is a full hard reset of the controller, then pairing it immediately after it powers back on. After the reset, open the Nanoleaf App, choose add device, and look for the device manually rather than relying on QR or NFC. Make sure your phone is on a 2.4 GHz WiFi network with Bluetooth enabled, and stay close to the controller during setup. If the device still does not appear after a reset, it may be that the controller is no longer broadcasting correctly for pairing even though it can still run stored scenes locally.
Since you have already tried multiple steps, I would like to get this properly reviewed instead of having you repeat the same process. Please submit a request here with your product model if known and a short video of the LED behavior so we can check this more closely and guide you on the next steps:

My Nanoleaf panels still work and cycle through saved scenes, but the app can no longer detect the device and the controller LED keeps blinking continuously. I’ve already tried the common troubleshooting steps, so I’d really appreciate mytime any direct advice or help from someone who experienced the same issue.

Hi. I have a Nanoleaf Elements setup and have had several occurrences of the device going “off-line” in the app and not being able to re-instate it. The 1st time this happened I raised a problem request and after trying all the standard trouble shooting steps, Nanoleaf supplied me with a new controller which resolved the issue. Recently, this new controller again went offline in the app after I had to restart my router and mesh extender. Again I tried the standard troubleshooting tips but the app continuously reported that it was unable to complete the connection because of an incorrect WiFi password (which I knew wasn't the case). I was about to give up when I re-ran the connection sequence at a distance away from the WiFi extender and nearer the base router. To my surprise the connection completed successful and all has been stable since. I can't explain why this happened (i.e. whether it's the Elements controller or my WiFi setup that's to blame). Hope this helps.
